Sri Lanka will begin their new year locking horns with a tough Indian side led by the Virat Kohli when they tour India for a three-match T20I series. They have brought back veteran all-rounder Angelo Mathews for the series captained by fast bowler Lasith Malinga which starts from January 5 (Sunday).

Mathews, who has struggled with injuries in recent times, has not played any T20I match since August 2018. Moreover, the injury has also kept him away from bowling in games. The 32-year-old will look to make this journey memorable and lead his side from the front with the bat. Angelo Mathews has rich experiences that will come in handy for the youngsters as Sri Lanka continue to build a strong team with ICC T20 World Cup looming large.
