Team India defeated hosts Sri Lanka in the 1st T20 international at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Notably, even after scoring just 160 runs on a batting-friendly surface, India managed to win the game by 38 runs.
The Indian batting line-up didn’t look in the best form in the first T20I match. Especially opening pair of India failed to provide a good start to the team. 21-year-old Prithvi Shaw got dismissed by Dushmantha Chameera on the very first ball of the match. Also, Hardik Pandya showed poor batting form in the game.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson batted decently. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav and Captain Shikhar Dhawan once again shined with the bat. Suryakumar scored 50 crucial runs of the team and Dhawan scored 46 runs.

From Dasun Shanka led Sri Lanka only Charith Asalanka played an amazing knock of 44 runs off 26 balls. However, he got no support from another end in the first game.
Meanwhile, On the bowling side of things, Bhuvneshwar Kumar was exceptional in the first match. Vice-captain of India picked a 4-wicket haul in the game. Also, India’s bowling looked strong as all the bowlers picked at least one wicket. From Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chameera and Wanindu Hasaranga bagged two scalps each.
In the second T20I match all eyes will be on spinner Varun Chakravarthy and opener Prithvi Shaw. Sri Lanka will expect some more runs from the top-order batting. Also, Hardik Pandya will be looking forward to performing well for India.
