Steve Smith so far in the ODI series against India has just batted at a different level. He has so scored two back to back match-winning hundreds against his favourite opponents India. Yesterday he scored a 62 balls destructive century and helped Australia to win the ODI series.

Interestingly Smith has revealed that he suffered from a bad dose of vertigo and wasn’t sure about his participation in the second ODI. The Australian batsman admitted that he was struggling on the morning of the match and didn’t look great for a while but fortunately felt better after he had a hit in the nets.

“I didn’t know I was playing today. I had a really bad dose of vertigo this morning and I was struggling until. I came down early to have a hit and a bit of a runaround,” Smith told cricket.com.au.

The star Aussie batsman asserted that team doctor Leigh Golding relieved him of the vertigo symptoms by performing Epley manoeuvres. It is a series of head movements practised to treat benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), a condition caused by a problem in the inner ear.

“The doctor, I think he performed six Epley manoeuvres on me this morning and got the crystals out of my ears and I was struggling for a bit”, Smith said.

Meanwhile, Smith was named the player of the match for both the ODIs. In the build-up of the series against India, Smith had expressed his disappointment regarding the way he batted in IPL 2020. He felt confident after the net sessions he had before the first ODI and pointed out that he has found his hands while batting.

“Just pleased to be able to get out there and play another good inning and help the team”, Steve Smith said after the second ODI.
