The former skipper of Australia Steve Waugh has always been hailed as one of the best in the game of cricket. He is forever remembered for his incredible captaincy skills and the records speak itself for him. However, surprisingly, the star spinner Shane Warne made a shocking claim by saying Waugh a selfish cricketer.

The dispute between Shane Warne and Steve Waugh started when he was dropped during a Test tour of the West Indies in 1999. That was for the first time that Warne was dropped in his illustrious career. Besides that, he got an unwanted stat, in which, he ran out his partners for 73 times.

Comments are a reflection of himself – Steve Waugh

When Tom Moody highlighted the stat in his tweet, Shane Warne took the lead and said that it was one of the proofs to call Steve Waugh the selfish cricketer he ever played with. Speaking of the same, Waugh stated that he doesn’t want to involve in a fight with Warne.

“People keep saying it’s a feud. But to me, a feud’s between two people. I’ve never brought into it, so it’s just one person. His comments are a reflection of himself, nothing to do with me. That’s all I’d say,” Steve Waugh was quoted as saying by the Sydney Morning Herald

Irrespective of the run-out numbers, Waugh still remains one of the best batsmen of his time. He played 168 Tests in which he scored 10,927 runs and registered 32 centuries. The right-handed batsman also played 325 ODIs in which he scored 7,569 runs at an average of 32.9.
