English pacer Stuart Broad took some time to formulate his best Ashes XI of all-time. In the latest video posted by the official page of The Lord”s,  Broad shared the same.

His opening combination included his beloved father Chris Broad alongside Sir Alastair Cook. His typical middle-order included the likes of Jonathan Trott, Kevin Pietersen, and Joe Root. It is worth noting that all of them have set their own brand of cricket for the poms.

Andrew Flintoff and Matt Prior formed the lower-middle order. He chose to go with a balanced bowling line-up with a blend of spinners and pacers. While Graeme Swann and Shane Warne are named as a part of the spin department, he had no hesitation in including Glenn McGrath and James Anderson as the lead pacers.

Both Anderson and McGrath are among the top five highest wicket-takers in the longest format of the game. Stuart Broad himself, just surpassed the record of Dale Steyn as he now has 444 scalps to his bag.

An English Dominant side

However, there aren”t any Australian players as a part of his batting line-up. Only two Kangaroos are a part of his playing XI and a lot of users posted their mixed reviews on the same.

The Ashes is all set to begin today at Birmingham. All eyes on the visitors if they can deviate the hosts from their spectacular record at this stadium. On the other hand, the series also marks the beginning of the ICC test championship. Viewers will also see a bit of change in whites as they will bear the number alongside the name.
