Suresh Raina Congratulates Rohit Sharma For Surpassing 5000 IPL Runs

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma became the only third batsmen in the history of the Indian Premier League to surpass 5000 runs. He became the only third batsmen after Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to reach the milestone. Prior to the match against Kings XI Punjab, Rohit Sharma was just two runs short of reaching that landmark, he completed it by hitting a four off Mohammed Shami to surpass 5000 runs.

As a cricketer, Rohit Sharma has drastically evolved over the years. After starting off with the Deccan Chargers franchise back in 2008, he made a move to Mumbai Indians in 2011 and has been part of the franchise ever since.

In 2013, he took over from Ricky Ponting as the skipper of the Mumbai Indians, in the very same season Mumbai went on to win their first IPL. After that, he’s just creating history as Rohit Sharma went on to win four IPL titles for his side.

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli tops the chart with 5430 runs though he’s had a lean form for the franchise in red this season, it is expected that he will bounce back very soon. The second position in the list is occupied by CSK stalwart Suresh Raina with 5368 runs, we all expect Rohit to surpass Suresh Raina’s tally since Raina has backed out of this season citing personal reasons.

Behind Rohit Sharma is the skipper of Sunrisers Hyderabad David Warner who hangs in there with 4793 runs. We expect Warner to surpass the 5000 run mark this season as he’s got plenty of time to achieve it this season.
