Playing his second T20I match, Suryakumar Yadav hit a six off the very first ball he faced to get off the mark in T20I cricket. Bowling fourth over, Jofra Archer was pulled for a six as Sury started off his T20I career. This happened after Archer dismissed Rohit Sharma in his previous ball. India decided to drop Suryakumar Yadav in the third T20I after he did not get to bat on his T20I debut in the second game.

Suryakumar Yadav hit Jofra Archer who bowled the delivery at 143.9 kph over fine leg for six to start off his T20I career. He pulled the ball with utmost ease over the fine-leg boundary as his Indian teammates enjoyed his shot at the dugout. It was 72 meter six.

Suryakumar Yadav missing the next game without getting an opportunity to bat became a debatable point of discussion after he was dropped in the third T20I. He has made the hard yards of scoring the runs in first domestic and then IPL cricket.

As per reports, he has played the maximum number of IPL games before making his India debut. Also before his inclusion into the team for the series, he had scored the most runs by an uncapped player in the IPL.

Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir criticised Indian skipper Virat Kohli for dropping Surya without even allowing him to bat. He further questioned Kohli as to what wring did Suryakumar did for him to be dropped.

“It amazes me, seven months before the World Cup he starts preparing for World Cup and probably after the World Cup he will start preparing for the next World Cup. It really doesn’t matter, the kind of form you are in matters. Imagine if there is an injury issue, what have you seen of Suryakumar Yadav, what have you seen of Suryakumar Yadav in international cricket.”

Shreyas Iyer was promoted at number four ahead of SKY in the second T20I. In this game, Yadav was asked to bat at number three with skipper Kohli coming into bat at number four.
