Mumbai Indians (MI) star Suryakumar Yadav took to social media on Thursday, April 3, to share a post of himself and his wife, Devisha Shetty, offering prayers at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Alongside him, there were other Mumbai Indians players too including Tilak Varma, Deepak Chahar and his wife as well.
However, Yadav last played in MI’s commanding eight-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 12th match of IPL 2025 on March 31 at Wankhede Stadium.
Batting first, KKR struggled and were dismissed for just 116 in 16.2 overs, with MI debutant Ashwani Kumar impressing with four wickets. In reply, Ryan Rickelton anchored the chase with an unbeaten 62 off 41 balls, while Suryakumar contributed a quick 27* off nine deliveries. MI secured their first win of the season, chasing the target with 43 balls to spare.
Ahead of MI’s fourth game, Suryakumar visited the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya with his wife and shared the moment on Instagram, captioning it:
“Hail Lord Ram.”

MI’s next match will be against Rishabh Pant’s LSG on Friday, April 4, at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams have secured just one win from their three matches so far, with MI positioned fifth and LSG sixth in the standings.

Suryakumar Yadav began his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians in 2012 before moving to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2014. He rejoined MI in 2018 and has since been a key performer for the franchise. Known for his 360-degree stroke play and aggressive intent, Suryakumar has been instrumental in MI’s success, contributing to multiple IPL title wins.
Across 153 IPL matches, the dynamic batter has amassed 3,698 runs at an average of 32.43, including 24 half-centuries and two centuries. For MI, he is the third-highest run-scorer, with 3,137 runs in 101 games, behind only Rohit Sharma (5,752) and Kieron Pollard (3,915).
