Mumbai Indians (MI) batter Suryakumar Yadav’s tweet on Riyan Parag’s ‘attitude’ caused some dispute on social media. Although the tweet seemed like an ordinary admiration, it didn’t go well for a bit of followers as some of them even requested Yadav, to remove the tweet.

Apparently, Yadav tweeted a praiseful tweet during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 Qualifier 1 between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), yesterday (May 24), at Eden Gardens Kolkata.  The tweet read, “Amazing attitude on the field #riyanparag #RRvGT.“

Meanwhile, several hailed the tweet but some went on to express displeasure.

Actually, Yadav’s tweet came after Parag’s gesture towards his RR teammate Devdutt Padikkal. In the 16th over of the GT’s chase, GT batter David Miller shoved the RR left-arm pacer Trent Boult’s yorker towards the wide long-on.

Parag was standing sort of straight at long-on. He made a quick gound, slid and stopped the ball from reaching the boundary. While getting up, Parag was beheld yelling at Padikkal for not backing up. Padikkal was standing at deep mid-wicket.

This is certainly not the only recollection of Parag from the match, as the 20-year-old was seen extremely frustrated over his miserable run-out while batting with Ravichandran Ashwin in the last over of RR’s innings.

Gujarat Titans enter IPL 2022 Final

Besides, reviewing the RR versus GT contest, RR aided by Jos Buttler again, posted a decent total of 188 for six. Buttler scored 89 runs off 56 deliveries, with two sixes and 12 boundaries. The RR opener notched runs at a strike rate of 158.92.

RR skipper Sanju Samson too, played a rapid-fire knock of 47 runs in 26 deliveries, with three sixes and five boundaries. RR’s middle order fell miserably without scoring some quick runs. For GT, Rashid Khan once more sustained all the switches as the GT leggie, in his spell of four overs, conceded merely 15 runs, but went on without a wicket. Mohammed Shami, Dayal, Sai Kishore, and Hardik Pandya were the four wicket-takers.

In reply, the Titans started it slowly by losing opener Wriddhiman Saha for a duck. Shubman Gill then carried on with keeper-batter Matthew Wade. Although, both the batters scored 35 runs in their much-needed partnership of 72 runs. Subsequently, it was all easy for GT as skipper Pandya and proteas smasher David Miller built a match-winning partnership of 106 runs off 62 balls, not out. Miller was awarded the Player of the Match award for his classy knock of 68 * off 38 deliveries.

GT is into the finals now, while RR will have to face the winner of today’s (May 25) Eliminator between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), in the Qualifier 2, on May 27 at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
