Sonawane has caught the attention of cricket fans with her unique bowling action. Sonawane is representing Velocity team in the Women T20 Challenge 2022. This action requires her to bend neck, arm and back everything to deliver the ball. This action is famously known as ‘Frog in the blender ‘ action.

Sonawane couldn’t get a wicket in the 2 overs she bowled in this match. She made headlines for the first time during the Senior Women Trophy 2021. We were waiting for the loose balls- Shafali Verma on her approach during run chase
Velocity defeated Supernovas by 7 wickets in their encounter in the ongoing season of Women’s T20 Challenge 2022. Velocity successfully chased down the target of 151 runs with the help of brilliant innings of 51 runs in 33 balls from Shafali Verma. She gave a great start to Velocity in the Powerplay.
Shafali Verma in post match presentation said: “We were waiting for the loose balls and tried to make the most out of it, we wanted to take the game deep. I have worked on my batting, I have a few more shots, but I will try to execute them in the next match. I tried to keep it simple, was playing according to the merit of the ball.”
