“Take A Bow” – Fans Hail Yashasvi Jaiswal’s Terrific Knock On Test Debut Against West Indies

Team India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has made a remarkable Test debut against West Indies in the first Test at Windsor Park, Roseau, Dominica. He slammed a century in the first innings, as India dominated the proceedings in the match. Jaiswal’s knock impressed the fans and the experts, as he comfortably crafted his innings.

The left-handed batter opened the innings along with Rohit Sharma. The duo wiped off West Indies’ first-innings score of 150 runs comfortably. They put on 229 runs on the board for the first-wicket stand. Rohit Sharma also scored a century in the innings. Despite the skipper’s dismissal, the Southpaw kept his end solid.

Yashasvi Jaiswal slammed 171 runs, with sixteen boundaries and a six. In the 126th over, he was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. He tried to push a delivery towards the covers but got an edge. The ball went to the wicketkeeper, who did no mistake to complete the catch. The fans were thrilled to witness Yashasvi Jaiswal’s century on debut.

Let’s take a look at how fans reacted to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s knock:

He is absolutely ready: Ishant Sharma on whether Yashasvi Jaiswal is equipped to play in England and Australian conditions

Team India pacer Ishant Sharma was all praise for Yashasvi Jaiswal. He expressed that the youngster is ready to play Test cricket in difficult conditions like England and Australia. He also highlighted Yashasvi Jaiswal’s batting approach in the first Test against West Indies in Dominica. Ishant Sharma said,

“According to me, he is absolutely ready because if you see this inning as well, all the boundaries he hit, especially against the new ball, they all came with cut or pull shots. It is a great sign for an opening batter when he refrains from playing a cover drive to full delivery. If you play the cover drive, there is a chance of you getting caught behind or in the slips.”

“He looked to score runs only with cuts and pulls against the new ball, which is every batter’s strength. Whenever the ball was pitched up, apart from an odd loose shot, he either defended it or played with the full face of the bat. This becomes very important for an opener,” he added.
