Team India last year won the series both in New Zealand and England and are tagged as one of the favourites to win the ICC T20I world cup. The series was against India when the men in blue defeat England in their backyard by 2-1. Playing at home India will be aiming to make a statement and win the series comprehensively. India after beating England in the Test series by 3-1 have already become the number 1 ranked Test side in the ICC rankings.

Furthermore, if India wins the series by 3-2 they will continue to be at the number 1 spot behind England. The visitors will be keen to continue their supremacy in T20I and consolidate their number 1 rank position in the ICC team’s ranking.
