After thrashing the Australian team 4-1 in ODI series, Indian captain Virat Kohli took time to wish the Indian Under 17 football team on Twitter ahead of FIFA Under 17 World Cup starting from 6th October. India Under 17 starts their tournament in the opening match against the United States of America on 6th October. Their next two matches are against Colombia and Ghana.
It will be the first time that India will be hosting a major football tournament. This is going to be a massive tournament for the young Indian football players to showcase their talent to the world. India Under 17-second match takes on Colombia on 9th and the last group match against Ghana on 12th October. All India matches would be played at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.
Virat Kohli wished the Under 17 team best of luck for the first match against team USA and rest of the tournament. It will be a huge moment for this young Indian football to play in front of huge crowds. Some of the players don’t get in their villages and their parents have lots of problems to persist with.
The Indian captain has been involved with football team FC Goa in the Indian Super League for 3 years as the co-owner of the Goa franchise. With football his second passion after cricket, Virat Kohli loves this game a lot. The FIFA Under 17 tournament start from 6th October and concludes on 28th October.

Each group has 4 teams divided into 6 groups. Two teams in each group progress to the round of 16 and third team in the group qualifies for round 16. The matches will be played in Kochi, Delhi, Kolkata, Margao, Navi Mumbai, and Guwahati. It promises to be the great experience for Under 17 football team to take on top football nations in the world and hope they can bring glory to the country.
