The BCCI are expected to announce a jumbo squad keeping in mid India’s Test series in England later this year.

BCCI Selection Committee Like To Announce Team India’s WTC Final by Friday

Meanwhile, the selection committee has a few selection headaches ahead of the big final. Hardik Pandya’s selection is debatable keeping in mind his inability to bowl at the moment. On the other hand, the BCCI selection committee is willing to include Prithvi Shaw in the squad after his impressive domestic season followed by his successful IPL 2021 stint. However, with four other openers – Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwalalmost certain, Shaw might miss the flight to Southampton.

Meanwhile, the selection committee is also keen on picking Karnataka pacer, Prasidh Krishna. The KKR pacer had a good outing in his debut ODI series against England earlier this year in March.

The other pacers who could be on the flight will be the expected ones -Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur. Mohammed Shami, who missed out on the England Tests, should return.

Like Shami, Hanuma Vihari and Ravindra Jadeja will make a return to Team India’s WTC final squad. R Ashwin and Axar Patel should also make the cut leaving Washington Sundar’s spot in a fix. Meanwhile, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane will form the strong middle-order with Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha being the two specialist keepers.
