Former cricketer Michael Vaughan feels the 2024 year could be the one for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). His comments came in the light of the Smriti Mandhana-led RCB team winning the Women’s Premier League 2024 season on Sunday, March 17 in Delhi.

Micheal Vaughan feels the Royal Challengers Bangalore men’s team can do a double by winning the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are yet to win a title in the history of the tournament, despite reaching finals thrice. Meanwhile, the Women’s team has won the WPL in just their second season. In a tweet by Michael Vaughan, the former He wrote,

Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Smriti Mandhana is proud of her team winning the 2024 Women’s Premier League tournament. She expressed that the feeling hasn’t sunk in yet. Mandhana also spoke about their journey in the 2024 season, at the post-match presentation. She said,

“Feeling hasn’t still sunk in. Hard for me to come out with expressions. One thing I’ll say is I’m proud of the bunch.”

“Our Bangalore leg was really good. We came to Delhi and had two tough losses. That’s what we spoke about that we need to step up at the right time. These tournaments are about peaking at the right time. Last year taught us a lot of things. What went wrong, what went right? Management just said this is your team, build it (your way),” she added.

Smriti Mandhana also had a message for the RCB fans, “One statement that always comes up is Ee Sala Cup Namde. Now it’s Ee Sala Cup Namdu. Kannada is not my first language but it was important to say it for the fans.”
