Kings XI Punjab finished sixth on the points table as they were knocked out of IPL 2020 after their loss against CSK in the last league game. KXIP had a season to remember for reasons more than one. Having won just one game in their first seven matches, Punjab made a huge turnaround winning five from their next seven matches. Meanwhile, after their exit from the tournament, team owner Preity Zinta has penned an emotional note on Twitter vouching to come back harder next season.

Taking to Twitter, Zinta wrote ” Time to say goodbye to IPL & Dubai. Not the season we hoped for but we will come back bigger, better & stronger So many thrills, heart attacks, highs, lows & memorable moments. It’s been a shorter run than what we hoped for” wrote Zinta recollecting the ups and downs of their entire season.

“But I wanna thank all the fans of @lionsdenkxip for standing by us & supporting us through thick n thin Thank you for being so awesome. You guys are the wind beneath our wings #Goodbye #Ipl2020 #Dream11IPL #Saddapunjab

KXIP were a part of two Super over finishes and a number of last-over finishes keeping their fans at the edge of their seats. They also played some brilliant cricket in between and looked good to win the tournament.

However, losing their last two games they lost out on the opportunity of making it to the playoffs and possibly lifting their maiden IPL title.

Kings XI Punjab, made it to the finals of IPL 2014, the last time when UAE hosted the tournament. The team regathered at the same venue with a lot of aspirations, however, the dream did not quite materialise the second time as well.

The biggest takeaway for the team will be that it won from impossible positions which will keep them in good stead before the start of next season.
