Indian skipper Virat Kohli was dismissed for 35 in the first innings of the Centurion Test. At stumps, India scored 272/3 courtesy of an unbeaten 122 from KL Rahul. India are looking at a score of nearly 450 in their first innings. Meanwhile, the second day’s play was delayed due to rain.

Former South African skipper Shaun Pollock talking to Cricbuzz, dissected Virat Kohli’s dismissal. He was dismissed chasing at a delivery that was bowled way outside the off-stump. Lungi Ngidi who took all the three wickets to fall on the first day exposed Kohli’s weakness once again.

Previously Virat Kohli has been guilty of chasing deliveries outside off stump. His dismissal at Centurion was also along the same lines. His weakness outside off-stump is now known to every bowler from the opposition teams. It was James Anderson who brought this to light during India’s 2014 tour to England. Since then, Kohli has had this problem with deliveries outside off stump.

“Looking at his dismissal, he’s got to be really, really disappointed. He looked in such good touch; he looked so motivated; his feet were moving nicely. and he was getting in really strong positions,” Pollock was quoted as saying on Cricbuzz.

“To have chased that delivery on 35, almost when he was set and looked like he was going to get a big score, I think he must be sitting at the hotel pretty frustrated at the fact that he got out in that fashion,” he added.
