2. Spot Fixing Scandal

In a sting operation carried out by the Delhi police, they have found evidences that revealed that three of the Rajasthan Royals players committed spot-fixing. The arrested players were S Sreesanth, Ajit Chandila, Ankeet Chavan along with 11 bookies on May 16th, 2014. The Rajasthan team management has suspended the three players, and BCCI called for an inquiry into the whole event. The major shock came when one of the top officials from the Chennai Super Kings Mr. Gurunath Meiyappan was arrested by the police on the allegations of match-fixing who is incidentally the son-in- law of the then president of the board, Mr. N. Srinvasan. The Delhi police, charge sheeted the tainted players of the RR team and subsequently the BCCI has banned them for life.
