- Spot fixing Sting
A television channel conducted a sting operation with a mission to get hold of players who agreed to take bribes to spot- fix. The footages were all over on the TV and the BCCI took the matter seriously and banned the players with immediate effect. The players caught in the sting operation were Shalabh Srivastava, TP Sudhindra, Abhinav Bali, Mohnish Mishra, Amit Yadav. The operation exposed that the franchises were willing to pay excess money beyond their usual match fees.
