Played between Mumbai Customs and Mafatlal CC at the Dadaji Konddev Stadium, Thane, the stage was all set for blistering finals with Mafatlal CC being put to bat first by the Mumbai Customs skipper.
Mafatlal CC posted a very healthy total of 185/7 in 20 overs thanks to solid half centuries by Harshad Khadiwale and Miten Shah. Harshad who is the highest run scorer in the tournament lived up to his expectations scoring a cracker of an 81 in mere 49 balls while Miten Shah who is another experienced campaigner scored a confident looking 53 off 36 balls as Mafatlal CC posted an imposing total to defend. From the bowlers, MPL Star Aiswarya Surve was the best bowler for Mumbai Customs taking 4/20 in 4 overs.
Chasing 186, Mumbai Customs were bundled out for 126 runs in 16.5 overs thanks to a magical spell of spin bowling by Puneet Tripathi. Puneet who played MPL last year delivered well under pressure as he has made his presence felt with bowling figures of 5/13 in 2.5 overs. Puneet came up with timely breakthroughs which never allowed the opposition to settle down. Puneet with 12 wkts to his name also becomes the highest wicket taker of the tournament.
Result- Mafatlal CC win the finals by 59 runs as they go on to win the coveted Samat Cup alongwith 6 lakhs Prize Money. Harshad Khadiwale was declared Man of the Match.
