Proteas batter Tristan Stubbs received his maiden South African team call-up for the T20I series against India. Cricket South Africa announced a 15-member squad for the five-match T20 series, starting from June 9 in Delhi.
Tristan Stubbs has been performing impressively well. Playing for the Gbets Warriors in the Cricket South Africa (CSA) T20 Challenge, he scored 293 runs in seven innings, at an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12, including 23 sixes. The 21-year-old was part of South Africa’s ‘A’ team to Zimbabwe. He recently was signed by the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League 2022 season, replacing Tymal Mills.
The 15-member squad also includes Anrich Nortje, Reeza Hendricks and Heinrich Klassen. Nortje was recovering from an injury since December 2021. He has been declared medically fit to play. Wayne Parnell has also made a comeback to the South African team. He played the last T20 against England in 2017.
