Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are facing each other in the 1st Qualifier at Kolkata in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both the teams would get two chances to reach the finals of IPL 2022 because RR and GT finished in the top two positions in the points table.
After being invited to bat first, the Royals didn’t get a good start. They lost young left-handed batter Yashaswi Jaiswal early. Captain Sanju Samson had a big responsibility on his shoulders to take Rajasthan to a good total. Sanju didn’t disappoint anyone.
The Kerala-born cricketer played a brilliant knock of 47 runs in 26 balls. He gave Rajasthan good momentum in the powerplay. Sanju Samson took on Alzarri Joseph in the powerplay. Later he smashed Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore in middle overs. He played Several mind-blowing shots in his innings.
Ā Here are top twitter reactions after this innings of Samson :
End of an excellent knock by Sanju. He's batted 4.2 overs at a run rate of 10.8, when so far Yashasvi & Buttler have batted 5.3 overs at a run rate of 4.72.
Just tells you the impact of that knock.

Brilliant from Sanju Samson. T20 cricket isn't measured in usual landmarks like 50s. It is about the impact you make.

The debate shouldn't be 'should Sanju Samson be in India's T20I squad?'
It should be 'is Sanju Samson India's best T20 batter?'#IPL2022

Barely needs saying at this point but absolutely baffling that Sanju Samson isn't in the India T20 squad

If Samson wants to get picked for India he needs to start taking a single after scoring a boundary, hitting another boundary instead is just silly i'm afraid.

Indian players with 400+ runs and 150+ Sr in this season.

How did Rohit and Dravid did not pick this beast Samson… Dropped him from the team after a decent IPL… Samson is one elite T20 player in India.

Rajasthan Royals paid BCCI selectors to not pick Sanju Samson so he could be fired up before playoffs and they benifit. š³ #IPL

Sanju Samson has been in amazing form in the ongoing season of the IPL. He has scored 421 runs in IPL 2022 at an amazing strike rate of 150. The 27-year-old has played several impactful cameos for his team. However, he still failed to make it into the Indian T20I team for the five T20Is against South Africa.
Jos Buttler guides Rajasthan Royals to 188 runs
After a Sanju Samson show at the Eden Gardens, Devdutt Padikkal kept the momentum going while Jos Buttler took his time to settle as he struggled to get his timing right. But luck began to favour him and he opened out in a big way towards the end and made a fantastic 89.
The last four overs of Gujarat Titans were ragged as catches were dropped and misfields made due to the pressure put on by Buttler. Those last four oversĀ produced 60 and pushed RR closer to the 190 mark.
