Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans are currently facing each in their encounter in Qualifier 1 of the ongoing season of Indian Premier League. The team winning this game would qualify for the Final of IPL 2022. Both the teams would look to seal their place for the final in this match itself.

Rajasthan Royals was once again heavily dependent on the orange cap holder Jos Buttler. The RR opener started his innings in a cautious manner. He played safely for the first 15 overs. At one time he was playing at 30 runs off 31 balls. He wasn’t getting his timing right.

In the 17th over of the game, Jos Buttler made room for himself and hit a shot towards Hardik Pandya who was standing at long off. Buttler couldn’t make a great connection. It was an easy chance for Hardik to take the catch. But Hardik slipped on the ground due to the wet outfield.

The ball sailed over Pandya’s head and reached the boundary ropes. Buttler looked delighted with this catch drop. In the end, Jos finished his innings brilliantly. Buttler scored 89 runs in 56 balls. Rashid Khan was the most economical bowler for Gujarat.

I feel we have got a good score- Devdutt Padikkal confident of Rajasthan defending the total

After being invited to bat first, Rajasthan Royals didn’t get a good start. Yashasvi Jaiswal couldn’t score much. Sanju Samson played an impactful knock of 47 runs to help bring momentum towards Rajasthan. Later Devdutt Padikkal too played a small cameo. In the end with help from Buttler, RR reached a total of 188 runs

Devdutt in mid match interview said “I feel we have got a really good score. The wicket doesn’t matter in a game like this. They will come hard. We were just looking to take the game deep, and Jos always knew that he can take it deep. Regardless of the situation, I would have taken on the left-arm spinner. It is dry, and not bouncing that much. Keeping low as well. A bit two-paced. Don’t think there is dew.”
