Twitter Erupts After Yet Another Batting Masterclass From Ab de Villiers For RCB

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will once again thanks Ab de Villiers who has now given them a chance against Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021. RCB had their back against the wall when De Villiers came out to bat. The Royal Challengers Bangalore had lost their big guns, Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell.

It was deja-vu again as the onus was on de Villiers again to take RCB to a competitive total. It was never going to be easy as the quality Delhi Capitals bowling attacks were making life difficult for all batsmen. Knowing the importance of his wicket de Villiers started cautiously and along with Rajat Patidar consolidated the innings.

Ab de Villiers produces yet another magical knock in IPL 2021

Once he understood the pitch de Villiers backed himself to dominate the bowling. It was a brilliant cover drive against Kagiso Rabada that gave him confidence and post that he did not lock back. During his knock today he breached the mark of 5K IPL runs and became only the second overseas player after Warner to reach it.

The job wasn’t done as RCB were still struggling to post a total of around 165. In the last 3 overs, the ‘genius’ that is de Villiers activated his beast mode and provided his side much-needed final flourish. In the final over he took Marcus Stoinis apart as RCB reached a competitive total of 171 for 5.

Twitter was again buzzing and in awe of the 37-year-old who continues to be RCB’s best batsman. He smashed 75 in mere 42 balls and his knock included 3 boundaries and 5 colossal sixes. From fans to cricket experts all showered praises on de Villiers who once again saved his best for RCB when they were under enormous pressure.
