Bangladesh have bowled out New Zealand for their lowest ever T20I score in the first game at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The Kiwis were bowled out for 60 as the Bangladesh spinners spun a web around the opposition batsmen. In the absence of Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill, the Kiwi batting line-up was exposed to the quality spin of the Tigers.

All the Bangladesh bowlers shared the wickets amongst themselves to bowl out the opposition. Shakib Al Hasan took two, Mustafizur Rahman took three, Nasum Ahmed and Saifuddin took two each as well.

On the contrary, Tom Latham and Henry Nicholls scored 18 each as none of the other Kiwi batters even got to double-digit scores.

The ploy of spin to win has worked well so far for Bangladesh at home. Recently they beat Australia in a T20I series by preparing spin-friendly pitches with the ball turning square. The first game between the two sides was just a trailer of what was to come over the next four matches to be played at the same venue.

Meanwhile, the Kiwi bowlers have struck early and taken three wickets so far in the second innings. Former skipper Shakib was the latest to go.

A few fans have questioned the quality of the pitch after the Kiwi batting collapse. They said that the pitch is not ideal for T20 cricket even tagging ICC and asking them to think about it.

The Tigers will have to go through the qualifying stage to get into the final 12 squads in the T20 World Cup 2021. They can face tough competetion from Sri Lanka and Scotland in the process, both of which are good T20I teams.

Sri Lanka recently beat India in a T20I series in their own backyard back in July.
