It”s a very unlucky way to get involved in runouts in the longest format of the game. When the entire side expects not to sacrifice the wicket playing cautiously, running between the wickets certainly proves to be a costly one sometimes if they are taken lightly.
Pujara has been one of the finest prospects for the Indian side. He wasn”t given a chance in the first test as Dhawan received a call. However, in the second test when he was named as a part of playing XI, the fans were overwhelmed as the squad has regained its “solidity” in his form. But the reality?
VIDEO: When Kohli turned his back on Pujara, the tragic run-out at Lord’s unfolded
The little wall didn”t last long at the crease, courtesy a splendid throw by the 20-year-old debutant Ollie Pope. The runout turned out to be the frustrating sight for the India fans who were expecting magical innings from the Saurashtra lad. Kohli, who called him for the run decided to stay back on either side of the crease before the dramatic events unfolded.
Twitter really flooded with mixed emotions after his runout. While few took it in a comic sense, others lashed out at Kohli for calling Puji for an “unnecessary” run.
Though one can blame Kohli for the runout , but next time hope Pujara keeps his eyes on kohli through out.#ENDvIND

Most times runout in Test cricket since Pujara's debut:
7 – CHETESHWAR PUJARA
5 – Rangana Herath / Ross Taylor
4 – Hashim Amla / Azhar Ali#ENGvIND— Sampath Bandarupalli (@SampathStats) August 10, 2018

Virat Kohli is a dick. Only if he was runout, Pujara would have reached the dressing room crying #ENGvIND

#LordsTest Looking at the runout of #pujara just feeling sad for him.
Probably #kohli rates his wicket way more than anyone's and that's why come half way down and then back with same speed to save his wicket.
I mean what have you done #viratkohli pic.twitter.com/1eAhdi8lBp— Satyam Agarwal (@Sattyamsam) August 10, 2018
All are blaming Virat for the runout.Yes I also feel the same but If we have to choose one between Virat and Pujara,I would feel Virat either as he is in form and Pujara did the right thing as well and sacrificed his wicket. #HaveYourSay @cricbuzz

Disastrous for India as yet. Rain has provided relief from agony. Pujara's wicket was a gift & Kohli wont be happy with his own role in it

You really really don't want to be Pujara just now……

Hate me or abuse me for this, when it comes to saving his wicket courtesy of a run out, no bigger selfish cricketer than Kohli. Not for first time not the last time. Feel for Pujara who was grinding it out..

If you are an Indian batsman today, you’d think the world had conspired against you. And if you are Pujara, it would feel even worse

Disgusting Indian Captain. Kohli has run out pujara just to prove his point for not taking Pujara in first test. #ENGvIND
