It”s a very unlucky way to get involved in runouts in the longest format of the game. When the entire side expects not to sacrifice the wicket playing cautiously, running between the wickets certainly proves to be a costly one sometimes if they are taken lightly.

Pujara has been one of the finest prospects for the Indian side. He wasn”t given a chance in the first test as Dhawan received a call. However, in the second test when he was named as a part of playing XI, the fans were overwhelmed as the squad has regained its “solidity” in his form. But the reality?

VIDEO: When Kohli turned his back on Pujara, the tragic run-out at Lord’s unfolded

The little wall didn”t last long at the crease, courtesy a splendid throw by the 20-year-old debutant Ollie Pope. The runout turned out to be the frustrating sight for the India fans who were expecting magical innings from the Saurashtra lad. Kohli, who called him for the run decided to stay back on either side of the crease before the dramatic events unfolded.

Twitter really flooded with mixed emotions after his runout. While few took it in a comic sense, others lashed out at Kohli for calling Puji for an “unnecessary” run.
