Melbourne Renegades captain Cameron White won the toss and elected to field. Travis Head 58, Collin Ingram 68, Alex Carey 32 helped Adelaide Strikers post a competitive total of 173 for 5 in 20 overs.
Dwayne Bravo tried to hit a big shot off Rashid Khan bowling in the 16th over. It was not an easy catch as Ben Laughlin was on the ropes and then took few steps without touching the boundary, gave the catch to Weatherald who took a brilliant diving catch. Laughlin thought nobody was there to catch but Weatherald was alert to the task and took a great catch. The teammates came and then enjoyed the effort of the fielders. These type of catches can change the course of the game. Adelaide Strikers won the match by 26 runs as Melbourne Renegades could only score for 147 for 7 in 20 overs.
