Team India absolutely decimated Sri Lanka in the test series 3-0. Sri Lankan team stood no chance at any point in time. Everyone knew before the start of the series that Sri Lankan batsmen lack the skills to withstand Indian spin bowling. But it is not about that! Skills developed over a period of time. For Sri Lanka, it was about the lack of application, lack of intent to stay in the crease and weather the storm which was the most disappointing part for their fans.

However, that”s all past now. It is time to leave that behind and focus on the coming ODI series. Sri Lanka will be looking to find motivation from somewhere to turn things around while India will focus on keeping things simple and not be complacent. As the Indian team landed in Dambulla, practice session got underway straight away under the watchful eyes of coach Ravi Shastri.

BCCI on their Twitter account gave an insider into India”s practice session via a video. Virat Kohli was seen practicing big hitting in India”s last practice session before the 1st ODI. In the video, Axar Patel was bowling to Virat Kohli and Virat was chipping down the pitch and hitting over long off.

He is seen doing this 2-3 times, everytime the ball hitting the sweet spot of his MRF bat. After he”s done, he is seen having a little chat with Ravi Shastri and walking away and in comes MS Dhoni for his turn.

Team India will be looking to continue their winning run. There is plenty of stake for both the teams. For Sri Lanka it”s more about survival as they need to win at least 2 games in the ODI series to qualify directly for 2019 World Cup, failing to do so will mean they will be playing against associates to qualify. If India doesn”t win the series it will be a shocker for Men in Blue ahead of the home season.
