Captain Rohit Sharma and several other key players, including Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and the coaching staff, are likely to depart for the United States today. The remaining players, including those whose IPL teams make the playoffs, will depart in a second group following the tournament’s final.
Beginning on June 1, the Caribbean Islands and the United States of America (USA) will host the T20 World Cup 2024. On May 25, the first group of Indian cricket players who are not participating in the IPL 2024 playoffs will go to the United States to play in the T20 World Cup.
A BCCI source told PTI, “Players like Rohit Sharma (captain), Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel will join the rest of the team and support staff on May 25 and will leave for New York together.”
