The India team skipper along with Lokesh Rahul was seen enjoying an off day at a swimming pool after they defeated Sri Lanka in the opening test of the three match test series in Galle.

Kohli took to social media to post few pictures of him and Lokesh Rahul where the duo was seen having fun at a pool side. He captioned those pictures with, “Chilling by the pool. Good times. “ Rahul who missed the first test due to fever is ready to make a comeback after a gap of four months as he missed international cricket due to a shoulder injury that he suffered during the Australia series.

Sri Lankan team while chasing a colossal target of 550 runs fell short of 304 runs in the penultimate day courtesy some brilliant bowling from Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja. The duo took six out of eight wickets that fell and the other two were shared by Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav.

The only Sri Lankan batsman to show some resistance in front of a clinical bowling performance was Dimuth Karunaratne who fell short of 3 runs what could have been a magnificent century. Asela Karunaratne fractured his finger while fielding in the slip region and will miss the entire series whereas Rangana Herath who suffered a hand injury didn’t come out to bat.

Hardik Pandya made his test debut for India when he was handed over the cap by the team captain Virat Kohli. He scored a brilliant 50 and became the fourth batsman to do that in the history of Indian test cricket.

Ravichandran Ashwin played his 50th test match here in Galle taking 279 wickets. He took four wickets in this test match as compared to Jadeja’s six.

India will play the second test in Colombo which is scheduled to start from Thursday.
