Virat Kohli Doesn’t Have Quality And Ability Like Chris Gayle, Ab de Villers in T20- Gautam Gambhir

Virat Kohli is the perfect batsman that has raised the level of batsmanship in all formats. The Indian skipper is the leading run-scorer in T20I cricket with an average of over 50. Unlike several T20 batsmen around the world, Kohli relies on quick singles and doubles even in T20s. He takes his time and once he settles then he decides to put the hammer down and execute big shots.

Gautam Gambhir has a strong point of view on various cricketing topics that he doesn’t hesitate in speaking on. Especially when it comes to the Indian skipper, Gambhir speaks his soul out. Earlier he had stated that Kohli hasn’t won anything as a skipper pointing out that cricket is not only about making runs.

Virat Kohli doesn’t have strength like Gayle and AB – Gautam Gambhir

Once again Gambhir has commented on Kohli this time on his weaknesses and strengths as a T20 batsman. The former India opener acknowledged that Kohli is a supremely fit and smart cricketer. Gautam Gambhir also said that Virat Kohli as a T20 batsman doesn’t have quality and ability like Chris Gayle and Ab de Villiers. He also added names of former players such as Jacques Kallis and Brian Lara stating Kohli doesn’t have quality like them either.

“Kohli was always a very smart cricketer, but then he turned his entire T20 career into a very successful one, just by being supremely fit. Probably because he does not have the strength of Chris Gayle, he doesn’t have the ability of AB de Villiers, he probably does not have the ability of Jacques Kallis or Brian Lara”, said Gambhir on Star Sports show ‘Cricket Connected’.

Kohli is the only batsman that has stayed on the top of T20I rankings for over 1000 days. The great batsman also registered 4 tons in the 2016 IPL edition playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). Kohli has also won the player of the series of the last two T20 world cups in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
