Ishan Kishan made his international debut for India earlier this year in the white-ball series against England. He was a part of the playing XI in all three T20Is against England, Later in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Kishan earned his maiden ODI call up and made his debut in the ODI series. Till date, he has played two ODIs and three T20Is for the Indian cricket team.

Meanwhile, in a recent chat with former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra, Kishan spoke about how Kohli made him comfortable on his international debut for India. The southpaw spoke about how the Indian skipper pushed him to hit Jofra Archer when he bowled a bouncer.

Sharing the same story Ishan Kishan said “When was about to face my first ball Jofra Archer was bowling Virat bhai said that ie he bowls a bouncer go for the shot.”

Kishan further spoke about how Virat Kohli brought about all the positive energy to Ishan Kishan’s game on his debut. He scored 56 on his debut and his innings helped India to in the game by seven wickets.

Kishan further said that Virat made the atmosphere very light as my innings went on. Kohli and Kishan added a 93 run stand in the chase of 167, after India lost the wicket of KL Rahul for a duck in the game.

” Virat bhai made the atmosphere very light. My adrenalin rush was under control. The way he was talking to me, he made me feel like I belonged to the Indian tea since a very long time”.

Ishan Kishan will be back to playing the game in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. He had a breakthrough season in 2020 scoring 516. Back then he was the first uncapped player to score over 500 runs in an IPL season.

His performances in the rest of the IPL season will be key in him getting a cal-up in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
