Watch – Virat Kohli Motivates His Teammates Ahead Of IPL 2021 Opener

Just a few hours to go before the start of IPL 2021 and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli was seen motivating his team before the start of the tournament. Royal Challengers Bangalore face the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the first match of the tournament on 9th April at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Work together as a team-Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli was seen telling the youngsters and the newcomers how things work at the franchise and was also seen telling them that they have a lot of fun throughout the season. He also told them that he hoped the team could work together as a unit especially during the training sessions where they bond with each other and also learn from the experienced coaches and players.

“To all the new guys who have joined RCB, welcome to this amazing group of guys. As you know from the guys that have played here in the past, the atmosphere, the energy throughout the season will be amazing. The only thing I expect from the guys is to make the most of the time spent on the field,” Virat Kohli said while speaking to the team.

Virat Kohli and co. made it to the playoffs last season after 4 years of being in the bottom half of the table. The RCB skipper also said that they had great momentum last season and he wished that they could continue and hopefully do well this time around also.

He was trying to inspire his players to do well since the whole team had reunited after the mandatory 7-day quarantine and many players like Devdutt Padikkal who had been tested positive for Covid-19 had returned. Virat Kohli gave the newcomers a great welcome and made them feel part of the team.

“Last year was a great step in the right direction for us and I feel like our squad is even stronger this year and I expect good things to happen again. But a lot of enjoyment happened last year and the focus was to make the most of the time we had, especially in our practice sessions. There was no mucking around, there was no wasting time. We were professionals in what we wanted to do and had a lot of fun as well through the season,” he added.

It will be interesting to see how far RCB goes in this tournament as the fresh faces and the youngsters are all booming with confidence and hope to do well for the franchise and probably lead them to their maiden IPL title.
