Team India skipper Virat Kohli has hogged the limelight wherever he goes; be it in the field or off the field. While the entire world came to a standstill due to the coronavirus outbreak, Kohli was very much active on social media platforms. And as per reports, Kohli is the only cricketer in the world’s top-10 list of highest earners sportsperson through sponsored Instagram posts during the lockdown phase.

Kohli has appeared on Instagram Live with former South Africa batsman AB de Villiers. He also chatted with Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal and footballer Sunil Chhetri. Besides, he has also spent some quality time with his wife and Hindi actress Anushka Sharma.

Virat Kohli highest earners among cricketers from Instagram

Virat Kohli occupies the sixth spot in the list of highest earners from Instagram in this lockdown between March 12 and May 14. As per reports, the 31-year-old earned a total of 3,79,294 pounds through the sponsored posts. It translates to around a stunning 1,26,431 million per post.

As per reports in Outlook, Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portugal footballer, tops the list with earnings of 1.8 million pounds. Argentina’s Lionel Messi and Brazil’s Neymar are second and third in the list with earnings of 1.2 million and 1.1 million respectively. Basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal (583,628 pounds) and former England captain David Beckham (405,359 pounds are the others in top five.

Zlatan Ibrahimović, the Swedish footballer (184,413 pounds), Dwayne Wade, the former National Basketball Association (NBA) star (143,146), Dani Alves, the Brazilian footballer (133,694) and boxer Anthony Joshua (121,500) are the other sports personalities in the top 10.

Speaking on the work front, Virat Kohli didn’t have a great start to the year. He struggled throughout the New Zealand series knocking only one fifty. He was a part of the three-match ODI series against South Africa; however, BCCI had to call off midway due to COVID-19. He will be itching to get back on the field as the lockdown eases out slowly.
