Virat Kohli, one of India’s most prominent cricket icons, expressed deep sorrow over the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, which claimed the lives of at least 26 civilians, most of whom were tourists. The attack, which occurred at Baisaran—a scenic meadow accessible only by foot or pony—was the deadliest in the Valley since the Pulwama incident in 2019.
Taking to Instagram, Kohli condemned the brutal act and offered heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. In his emotional post, he wrote, “Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to the families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act.”

Kohli wasn’t the only cricketer to voice his grief and anger over the horrifying incident. KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, and Anil Kumble also took to social media to express their shock and solidarity with the victims.
Shubman Gill posted, “Heartbreaking to hear about the attack in Pahalgam. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence like this has no place in our country.” Rahul echoed similar sentiments, expressing sympathy and calling for peace. Anil Kumble also mourned the loss of innocent lives, calling the attack a senseless act of violence, and encouraged unity against hatred and terrorism.
