In the wake of Team India’s injury woes, former opener Virender Sehwag hilariously stated that he is ready to go to Australia if BCCI looks after his quarantine. Meanwhile, the visitors have been marred with injuries throughout this series and the numbers have only increased as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy progressed.
After the Sydney Test, which saw Hanuma Vihari and Ravichandran Ashwin battle injuries to save the match, three Indian cricketers were ruled out from the fourth and final match of the tour. Ravindra Jadeja is out with a dislocated finger. On the other hand, Vihari will miss actions with a hamstring while pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah has been reportedly ruled out with abdominal pain.

On top of it, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, and KL Rahul have already been ruled out of the series while regular skipper Virat Kohli returned to India to stay with his wife during the birth of their first child. Amid India’s growing injury concerns, Virender Sehwag came with a hilarious response on the microblogging site Twitter.
The former dashing opener said that he is ready to head to Australia if the Indian team is falling short of fielding eleven fit players for the Brisbane Test.
“itne sab players injured hain , 11 na ho rahe hon toh Australia jaane ko taiyaar hoon, quarantine dekh lenge @BCCI,” Virender Sehwag wrote in a tweet.

Meanwhile, as per reports going around, Shardul Thakur is expected to make his way into the playing XI in place of Jasprit Bumrah while Washington Sundar glares as his Test debut from nowhere. He has been with the squad since the completion of the T20I series as a net bowler and now can make his Test debut in the Brisbane Test. Left-arm fast bowler T Natarajan can also get his debut Test cap after making his limited-overs debut earlier in the tour.
Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw are running for a spot in the middle-order while popular perception say that Rishabh Pant might play in that role while Wriddhiman Saha will don the wicket-keeping gloves.
The fourth and final Test between India and Australia in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy will commence on January 15(Friday) at the Gabba.
