VVS Laxman Predicts The Winner Of The ODI Series Between India and New Zealand

With the T20Is done and dusted, the focus will now shift towards the upcoming three-match One-Day Internationals commencing from February 5 (Wednesday). Ahead of the start of another thrilling series between India and New Zealand, former cricketer, VVS Laxman has predicted the winner.

The Men in Blues were the dominant side in the five-match T20I series affecting a clean sweep over the home side. It was a combined effort from all the players as they registered their first-ever T20I series win in New Zealand. KL Rahul was exceptional with the bat finishing with 224 runs with good support from Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Manish Pandey. On the bowling front, Jasprit Bumrah led the pack with Mohammed Shami and Navdeep Saini stepping up whenever needed.

On the other hand, New Zealand will curse themselves for finishing on the wrong side. They lost the last three matches from the cusp of victories throwing away matches in the final overs. The batting has crumbled time and again while the bowlers at times have looked clueless against the in-form Indian batters. However, the one-dayers will be a completely different ball game and the Kiwis will hope to come back strongly.

Meanwhile, with only two days to go for the ODI series, VVS Laxman has predicted India to come out as the winner in the three-match series. However, it doesn't take much of brain considering the stellar form India is in currently. The Virat Kohli-led side will be keen to avenge the World Cup semi-final defeat last year.

Speaking in the post-match show on Star Sports, VVS Laxman has said that India will clean sweep the ODI series 3-0. Although it looks like a bold prediction, but another whitewash will be on the cards with the Kiwis missing all their star fast bowlers owing to injuries.
