Team India’s batting icons Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, along with head coach Gautam Gambhir, were presented with mementos by Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) Secretary and Vizag MP Sana Sathish Babu ahead of the third ODI against South Africa on Saturday, December 6. Sathish Babu also shared a post about the felicitation.

Since Kohli and Rohit now feature exclusively in ODIs at the international level, fan enthusiasm reaches another level whenever the legendary pair takes the field together. With the series tied at 1-1, the Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam is jam-packed, as supporters eagerly await another victory from the Men in Blue.

“A truly special day in Visakhapatnam. As ACA Secretary, I was privileged and honoured to present mementos to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Head Coach Gautam Gambhir, recognising their phenomenal contributions to Team India. The atmosphere was electric — fans packed the stadium with immense excitement, eager to see their icons. Their love shows the impact these legends have created.”

Team India ended their 20-match losing streak in tosses, with KL Rahul choosing to field first, reportedly considering the impact of dew.

Kohli Shines with Back-to-Back Centuries

Meanwhile, all eyes are on Virat Kohli in the series-decider at Visakhapatnam, after he hit back-to-back hundreds in the opening two matches. If he manages another century, the 37-year-old would achieve a series hat-trick of hundreds for the second time, having previously done so against the West Indies at home in 2018, with scores of 140, 157, and 107.

At the time of reporting, South Africa were 219/5 after 35 overs. Quinton de Kock played a brilliant century and put together a 113-run partnership with Temba Bavuma (48). However, the Proteas lost key wickets of Matthew Breetzke (24) and Aiden Markram (1), putting them under pressure.
