Wasim Jaffer took a clever dig at England batsman Zack Crawley after he questioned the decision of the third umpire. Crawley and the England team were annoyed after the third umpire gave 2 major decisions against them. When they came out to bowl under lights on day 1, England thought they had the wicket of Shubman Gill when Ben Stokes claimed the catch.

However, the replays clearly indicated that the ball made contact with the grass and Gill got a reprieve. The England captain Joe Root was visibly upset as he thought that Stokes had taken a fair catch and the third umpire should have given it out.

Then later on in the final session, England was confident that they had stumped out Rohit Sharma. However, the third umpire gave it not out as he felt that Rohit’s foot was grounded when the wicket-keeper removed the bails. Two decision went against England on day 1 as they had a frustrating outing in the field.

After the day’s play Crawley stated that the 50-50 decision didn’t go in England’s favour which was extremely frustrating. Crawley obliquely criticised the third umpire decision which didn’t go down well with Wasim Jaffer. The former India cricketer trolled the opener for crying over the spilt milk. Jaffer who is known for his sense of humour on Twitter posted a hilarious tweet.

“*The Titanic has sunk* Some people: How can you be so sure the Titanic has sunk without looking at it from all angles? #INDvsENG”, Jaffer tweeted.

“Yes, it was very frustrating as we were behind in the game and we needed that 50-50 to go our way. And it when in their way today. It is frustrating as we desperately want to win and it doesn’t help in our chances of winning. Hopefully, we play better tomorrow and don’t require that 50-50,” Crawley had said during the virtual press conference.
