Wasim Jaffer is famous these days for his witty tweets and memes on Twitter. The former India cricketer recently came up with a hilarious tweet after Babar Azam surpassed Virat Kohli to claim the top spot in the latest released ICC ODI Rankings. Virat Kohli who held the spot for 1258 days has now moved down to number 1 after blowing hot and cold in the recent series against England.
The Indian captain is known for his consistent display of batting through the years. Virat Kohli experienced a sudden dip of form which happened to coincide with a purple patch that Babar Azam is going through. Babar recently scored 228 runs in the South African series which was the reason he leapfrogged Kohli to be the No.1 batsman.
One of the reasons why Virat Kohli lost the top spot might be because India hasn’t been involved in too many ODI games since the start of last year. Kohli currently has 857 points and is 8 points behind the Pakistan skipper, who has 865 points under his belt.
You know how much Virat loves to chase- Wasim Jaffer
Former Indian opener found a funny side to this as well. He congratulated Babar Azam for his achievement but also told him not to feel too comfortable at the top spot. He also added that everyone knew how much Virat Kohli loves to chase. He said that Virat Kohli will in no time regain his consistency and be back on top. Reacting to the same, Wasim Jaffer warned Babar of not getting too complacent besides congratulation him for the outstanding achievement.
“Congratulations @babarazam258, well deserved. But don’t get too comfy at the top, you know how much Virat Kohli loves chasing,” Wasim Jaffer tweeted.

For the moment, Babar Azam is leading Pakistan against South Africa in a four-match T20I series, which is drawn 1-1 currently, with two more games to be played, whereas Kohli is leading his franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the ongoing Indian Premier League.
Having dominated the rankings for this long, the Indian skipper will not get a chance to regain his spot soon as the latest India feature in an ODI only after the IPL ends
