Wasim Jaffer has trolled former Aussie spinner Brad Hogg after the latter criticised the Indian batsmen for their mediocre show in the first innings of the second warm-up game in Sydney. India were bowled out for 194 after Ajinkya Rahane opted to bat first. Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers bowled out the Aussie batters for 108 in the first innings. At stumps on Day 2, India are 386 for 4 after an impressive show from the batters in the second innings.

The Indian frontline batsmen register low scores – Mayank Agarwal 2, Hanuma Vihari 15, Rahane 4 and Rishabh Pant 5 – despite Prithvi Shaw and Shubman Gill getting in the 40’s. This is when Hogg took to his Twitter handle and suggested a few changes in their technique.

“Indian top order need to know where their off stump is, learn to leave the ball off a good length, and not chase the ball moving away outside off stump,” Hogg tweeted.

Wasim Jaffer instantly replied to the tweet saying “Australia need to know who their top order is”. The reply was in reference to Australian openers David Warner and Will Pucovski picking up injuries ahead of the first Test.

In reply to Indians’ 194, Australia A were bowled out for 108 with pacers Mohammed Shami and Navdeep Saini picking up three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj claimed two and one scalps respectively. India ended the day on 386 for 4 with a lead of 472 on their opponents.

Meanwhile, Marcus Harris has been added to Australia’s Test squad after the injury to their regular openers. Rohit Sharma also cleared his fitness test and will be travelling to Australia on Sunday. He will be available for selection for the third and fourth test following his mandatory quarantine. The first test starts from December 17 in Adelaide.
