West Indies all-rounder Odean Smith ran riot in the ongoing CPL 2022, hitting five sixes in a single over against Jamaica Tallawahs. The incident took place in the 25th match of the CPL between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Tallawahs.
He arrived on the field post the dismissal of Gudakesh Motie in the 16th over. Guyana Amazon Warriors were reeling at 98/7 before Smith’s arrival. Migael Pretorius was handed the ball by the skipper to bowl the 18th over. They were confident of summing them up under 130. But little did they know of Odean Smith’s intentions.
Within the blink of an eye, Smith smashed five sixes in Pretorius’s 18th over. He went for 31 runs in a single over. The Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder showcased brutal hitting with absolute power. He lived up to his Caribbean name.
Here’s a glimpse of the splendid moment:

Odean Smith’s 42 (16) helped Guyana post a total of 178. They scored 78 runs in the last three overs. That was the level of brutality by the duo of Keemo Paul and Smith.
During the chase, Jamaica Tallawahs lost a wicket early. But Brandon King led the charge of the team. He registered a magnificent hundred, including eight fours and six maximums. But his ton went in vain as the team fell short of 12 runs. They were bowled out for 166.
The win will boost the confidence of Guyana as they are having a below-par season this year. They are ranked last in the points table.
