Team India released a brand new jersey for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The global T20 competition will take place in Australia, which gets underway on October 16 and will run until November 13.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a picture on their social media handles to reveal the team jersey. In the pics uploaded by BCCI, the photo consisted of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, star all-rounder Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav. While women’s cricketers like Renuka Singh and captain Harmanpreet Kaur were among the players from the women’s team in the picture

The front of the jersey has light tones of Azure Blue while the sleeves feature dark tones of Royal Blue. The jersey comes in shades of the iconic and fan-favourite blue colour for a befitting look for the champions of the game.

Throwing light on where they draw inspiration while designing the jersey, the kit sponsor stated in a release:

“The jersey pays homage to the legions of fans that span different genders and age groups and transcend geographical borders. It is styled with a pattern of equilateral triangles – a universal symbol of the blend of energy, spirit and power – that celebrates the unswerving support of the fans who have stood behind the team through thick and thin.”

Team India will don the new jersey in the upcoming T20I series against Australia and South Africa before heading to the T20 World Cup Down Under.


Team India to lock horns with Australia in a three-match T20I series

Team India is set to take on Australia in a T20I series slated to start on September 20. The first match of the series will be played at the PCA IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. The Men in Blue will welcome two of their prominent pacers – Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah. Veteran pacer Umesh Yadav has also been named in the squad as a replacement for Mohammed Shami.

India will hope to get their combinations right before the T20 World Cup next month.
