[WATCH] “Aankh Dikhata hai” – Ishan Kishan Recreates A Scene From The Movie “Gangaajal” With Shubman Gill

Indian cricketers Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, both members of India’s team in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023, enjoy a strong friendship off the cricket field. They frequently share amusing videos on their social media platforms.

In a widely circulated video on X (formerly known as Twitter), Kishan recreated a memorable scene from the 2003 Bollywood movie “Gangaajal.” This film, starring Ajay Devgn, was originally filmed in Tejpur, Bihar, and was one of the highest-grossing Indian movies of that year.

The cricketer from Bihar, along with Mohammed Siraj, was observed smearing cake on Gill’s face while Axar Patel held him from behind.

For those not aware, Shubman Gill celebrated his birthday alongside the Indian cricket team on September 8th. On the professional front, Gill delivered back-to-back half-centuries against Nepal and Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. However, the right-handed opener was dismissed for 19 runs from 25 balls in the match against Sri Lanka.

In contrast, Ishan Kishan recently gained attention for his batting performance against Pakistan. The left-handed batsman accumulated 82 runs from 81 balls during the group stage.  Nevertheless, he couldn’t replicate that success in the game against Sri Lanka, scoring 33 runs from 61 balls. Nonetheless, the Men in Blue secured victory in that match by a margin of 41 runs.

Shubman Gill climbs to second place in the latest ICC ODI rankings

Shubman Gill has moved up to the second spot in the most recent ICC ODI rankings, which were published on September 13. This rise is a result of his impressive performance, accumulating 154 runs across four innings in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The cricketer from Punjab now holds the second position with 759 rating points, closing the gap with the top-ranked ODI batsman, Babar Azam, who has 863 rating points.

Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two other Indian batsmen, feature in the top 10 of the latest ICC ODI rankings. They hold the eighth and ninth positions, respectively, with 715 and 707 points. In the meantime, Ishan Kishan has climbed three places to the 22nd spot after accumulating 115 runs in two matches during the Asia Cup 2023.

Team India’s next match is against Bangladesh at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday, September 15. Following back-to-back victories against Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super Four stage, the Men in Blue have already secured their place in the Asia Cup 2023 final.
