Ajinkya Rahane led India to a series win in Australia after Virat Kohli returned back to India due to the birth of his first child. Rahane led India to two wins in the final three Test matches and win the series 2-1 and retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy. On Thursday, he returned along with other members of the Indian cricket team who were on that tour. Rahane along with coach Ravi Shastri, Rohit Sharma and Prithvi Shaw reached Mumbai on Thursday.

Upon reaching Mumbai, Indian skipper Ajinkya Rahane was given a grand welcome at his home. They blew the bugle as soon as the Indian skipper reached his house while people were cheering for him in Marathi. The chants (meaning here comes our Ajinkya) were heard amid the beating of the traditional dhol tasha and showering of flower petals at Rahane’s residential complex. In his society, residents and videographers jostled to capture the moments and the unassuming batsman posed happily for them.

Meanwhile, Ajinkya Rahane with other Mumbai players Rohit Sharma, Prithvi Shaw, Shardul Thakur along with coach Ravi Shastri were felicitated by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials, including President Vijay Patil and Apex Council members Ajinkya Naik, Amit Dani and Umesh Khanvilka.
