Following the Mumbai Indians’ (MI) defeat to the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 2 of the IPL 2025 playoffs on Monday, team owner Akash Ambani addressed the players in the dressing room, offering words of encouragement to lift the spirits of the dejected squad after their elimination.
During his talk, Akash Ambani shared a quote from his father, using it to inspire and comfort the team after their exit from the 18th season of the lucrative T20 league.
“Situations and circumstances can either make you a bitter person or a better person. And better applies to each and every individual of what it takes, skill-wise, mentality-wise, team-spirit-wise,” the 33-year-old said.
“I’m sure as hell and it is certain no one should take whatever is lost bitterly; we should take it better. And understand what it takes, what it takes to be champions of the IPL. Wish you all the best for the upcoming months and see you guys soon, and thank you for everything”.

However, Punjab captain Shreyas Iyer, who had previously guided Kolkata Knight Riders to an IPL title, delivered a stunning unbeaten 87, steering Punjab to their first final in 11 years in the high-profile tournament.
