Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder Andre Russell displayed his dance moves on the ground at the Wankhede Stadium during the match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in IPL 2022. He did not get an opportunity to bowl in the first innings of the match but made sure to entertain the crowd with his dance.

The incident took place just before the end of the innings. Andre Russell was standing at the boundary ropes with a towel in his hand. He started dancing with the towel as the ‘Aata majhi satakli’ song was being played in the stadium. His dance moves were captured on camera, and the video was shared widely on social media.

Harsha Bhogle, who was on air at that moment, said, “Oh, these players from the Caribbean, even if they are not hammering sixes and taking wickets, they celebrate with their dance moves.”

The Kolkata Knight Riders openers, Aaron Finch and Baba Indrajith are already back in the hut. The team has put on just 32 runs in the powerplay at the loss of two wickets. Aaron Finch was dismissed in the fourth over by Kuldeep Sen for just four runs.

Sen bowled a back of a length delivery outside off stump. Finch who was on the backfoot, tried to slash it through the offside, but instead got a thick inside edge, and was bowled. Finch’s partner, Indrajith too returned back to the pavilion soon after. He was caught by Ravichandran Ashwin off Prasidh Krishna’s bowling for 15 runs. Meanwhile, Nitish Rana joined Kolkata Knight Riders skipper, Shreyas Iyer at the crease.
