Indian Pacer Anshul Kamboj took his maiden Test wicket on the third session of Day 2 in the fourth Test match between England and India by dismissing Ben Duckett. The hosts were off to a smashing start with the bat, with the two openers of Zak Crawley and Duckett putting on a scorching 166-run partnership. Crawley, who had made a poor series to date, got going but was dismissed on 84 runs. He was outdone by Ravindra Jadeja.

England opener Duckett was dismissed in the 94th run off 100 balls, after Anshul Kamboj provided the breakthrough. The 30-year-old was making the game out of the reach of India, and it is here that the wicket of Anshul Kamboj swayed off the wind marginally. England opener nicked one off to the keeper, Dhruv Jurel, coming forward easily.

Anshul Kamboj’s Crucial Breakthrough

The wicket of Anshul Kamboj slightly turned the momentum of the game but England kept scoring freely. The hosts reached the 200-run mark and surviving till the last minute of the first day kept the scoreboard ticking despite being reduced to 197/2 at one point. Indian bowlers could not help much, and England had gotten control of the game.

A half-century each by Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Rishabh Pant helped India reach 358 in its first innings, which did not look to be sufficient with England scoring easily. The visitors are also in desperate need of wickets to revive the game or it may easily go out of their hands.

The third day of a Test match is significant and the way things are shaping up now, the team led by Ben Stokes will be hoping to command a substantial lead in the first innings. The Indian team must re-strategize and devise a concrete way to swing the game.
