Team India’s wicketkeeper-batsman, Sanju Samson, has reached Jaipur to reunite with Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Samson will maintain his role as the captain of the team for the upcoming edition. The franchise shared a video of the RR skipper’s arrival on its official social media platform.

Under the leadership of Sanju Samson, RR concluded IPL 2023 with seven victories and an equal number of defeats out of 14 league matches. However, they missed out on a playoff berth, securing fifth place in the standings.

Samson had a respectable season with the bat, accumulating 362 runs in 14 matches with an average of 30.16 and a strike rate of 153.58. The right-handed batsman registered three half-centuries during the tournament.

Sanju Samson recently discussed being offered the captaincy of RR in 2021, taking over from Australia’s Steve Smith, who was released by the franchise before the season.

The 29-year-old revealed that RR owner Manoj Badale approached him for the role. Samson expressed feeling prepared for the responsibility, considering his longstanding tenure with the team.

Riyan Parag has reached Jaipur to join Rajasthan Royals for IPL 2024

Assam’s batting all-rounder Riyan Parag reached Jaipur on Wednesday, March 13, to link up with Rajasthan Royals (RR) for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. This marks Parag’s sixth season with RR, initially signed for ₹20 lakh before being retained for ₹3.80 crore at the IPL 2022 mega auction.

RR shared on their official Instagram account to announce the arrival of the talented youngster.

Despite showcasing occasional brilliance in his IPL journey, Riyan Parag is yet to have a breakthrough season. The right-handed batsman has accumulated only 600 runs from 54 matches, with a modest average of 16.22.

Last year, the 22-year-old’s batting performance was disappointing, managing just 78 runs from seven appearances at an average of 13.00. Rajasthan Royals finished fifth in the IPL 2023 points table, narrowly failing to secure a playoff berth.
